Our Story

Since 1951, Janka Pierogis has been a beloved part of Cleveland’s Slavic Village area, where tradition, flavor, and family come together in every handmade pierogi.

It all began in the small kitchen where the Krusinski family started making pierogis the old-fashioned way, with simple ingredients, a rolling pin, and plenty of love. Word spread quickly through the neighborhood that Janka’s pierogis were something special, soft golden pockets filled with the unmistakable taste of home.

For over seven decades, the Krusinski family carried on that same tradition. In July 2025, Dave and Dana Bundus became the new caretakers of the Market with one goal in mind: to continue the legacy of the Janka Pierogi Brand. Each pierogi is still handmade, just like Janka did it, never rushed, and still made with care. From the dough to the filling, every step is done by hand to ensure the perfect bite, tender on the outside and deliciously comforting on the inside.
